The Sister That I Never Had.

A few weeks ago I was painting my fingernails when my baby brother, Dylan, came to me and said that he wanted his toenails painted. So I had him go to my room and choose the color that he wanted to wear. He choose a light green color, because he said that it was more of a boy color.

As I was putting away the nail polish I suddenly thought of something I had always wanted to do on a little sister. So I decided to put some makeup on him. He was really reluctant, but I was able to bribe him to let me do it.

This was the finished art.

This is what Dylan really thought of me doing this to him.

Okay, as you can tell I am no cosmetologist, I can't do hair and makeup very well. I still was able to have fun doing it though. I sometimes wish that I had a little sister, but I guess my little brothers will do. I love them both very much, even though sometimes they get on my nerves.

The Swimming Dog

When my puppy Diego was about 9 months old I took him to Woodland Park to walk around Woodland Lake while Dylan was at a baseball practice. All three of the dogs that I have owned before Diego hated water a lot. When I was walking around he kept on trying to pull me over to the water. So finally I decided that I would let him go over to the water, not expecting him to do anything. To my surprise, he ran right to the water and jumped in. Since then whenever he has a chance he goes running toward any body of water that is around him. Even if the water is frozen, he likes to run across the ice.

Diego loves to leap through the water and get into the deep part so he can doggy paddle and try to chase after the ducks in the water. He does know not to go out too far or else he will get tired quickly. Close to the shore he likes to try to get the rock from the bottom. It is really funny.

Here are three other pictures that I took on our last trip to the lake.

Two Cute Girls

A couple of Fridays ago I took Callie and Brinley to the park. It was very windy that day, but really fun anyway.

Callie and Brinley

Callie didn't like the swings at all. We would try to put her in the swings but she wasn't going to have it. She liked the slides the most. She loved going down them with help from her sister Elsie.

Brinley liked playing on the swings, climbing the slides, and playing tetherball, just like any other four-year-old does.

Here are some other pictures I have taken that I think are really cute.

Oklahoma!

Last night some of my friends and I got the wonderful opportunity to go see the Snowflake High School production of Oklahoma! It was nice to be able to hang out with my friends, since I don't get to do it very often any more.

Here are pictures of all of us together.

Oklahoma is about a guy named Curly who loves a girl named Laurey. In fact, they both love each other, but they are too proud to let each other know about it. The rest of the story tells how another man tries to come between them and how they discover they belong together.

Here are some pictures I took at the play. Sorry they are not very good.

I thought that this play was very good. I love romances because you never know what is going to happen. I am very glad that I got to go and be with my friends. It was really fun.

Fun With Daddy

A few weekends ago my dad came up for a surprising visit. I thought that it was going to be a nice relaxing Saturday on Febuary 21st. So I decided that it would be a nice day to sleep in late. Well, sleeping wasn't going to happen. About 8:30 in the morning my dad called and said that he was up in the mountains, and he invited us to go swimming with him at the hotel that he was staying at. I was very excited, since I don't get to see my daddy very often.
*
It was a very fun time at the pool, playing like old times, throwing each other in the water, having splash wars, and trying to dunk each other in the water. Here are some pictures at the swimming pool.

This is my little brother Dylan taking a dive.

Then on Sunday after we went to church, we decided to go hike the Mogollon Rim. I love to go out there it is always fun and very beautiful.
Here are some pictures that I took at the Rim.

Our dog Diego came along on the hike with us.

I am always excited when I get to see my dad. It is always a blast and I don't want it to ever end. It is always sad to say good-bye, but I know that we will get to see each other soon.

Animals Rock

As you can see from my profile, I love animals. I thought that I should talk about how I decided to go in the career of a Vet Tech.
*
This me and my first puppy, Rambo.

Ever since I can remember I loved to be around animals. When I was about seven I though that it would be cool to be a veterinarian, to help animals that are sick and make them feel better. I loved taking care of my pets when they were hurt.
*
This is with me and my next puppy, Astro.

When I got to high school they had job shadows, where you go and follow people around to see what career is the best for you. When I was a freshmen I got the opportunity to job shadow a veterinarian, and I was very excited. During that whole entire day I watched the vet. I just couldn't imagine myself doing all of the stuff that she was doing. When I got home that night I had the feeling that this was not the right job for me. As I thought about what I saw that day it came to me that all of the things that the vet techs were doing were things that I could do. Things like monitoring the animal while it was in surgery, taking blood and doing tests and things like that. I thought that it was really cool.

That day changed my entire career plan. I am so very thankful for job shadows to help find the right job for me.

Call Me Mary Poppins

You can call me Mary Poppins because I am a Nanny. I watch two of my cousins named Brinley, 4, and Callie, 2, while my aunt goes out and does things that need to be done. I have been doing this since August and have been loving almost every minute of it. It has really helped bring me closer to my cousins. Some things that I get to do is go down to the valley with Aunt Dana and help her watch these two beautiful girls at doctor visits. I get to go and watch Callie while she is in therapy and watch how much more she can do every day since her accident.
This is Callie on the way to a doctor's appointment. Callie loves cameras!
*
I like it because I love little children and as a nanny I get to be with children all day long. I get to watch movies with them, play with them outside, take them on bike rides, and just hang out with them.

This is Brinley with her big sister, my cousin Amber. Brinley is camera-shy.

I think that overall it is a wonderful job, and hope that I can do it for years to come. Or at least until I finish my general classes at Northland Pioneer College and transfer to Mesa Community College to train as a veterinarian technician!
